Joe Elliott

Health and Safety Data Analyst

I started with MB 8 years ago in the HR department as an apprentice.  The company supported me through courses and training and eventually I worked to become the HR Advisor at our Basingstoke DC. During my time in the HR team the company was incredibly supportive of my desire to learn new skills and develop my knowledge.

Joy Pais - Martin Brower

Joy Pais

Assistant Transport Manager, Dublin

I began my journey at Martin Brower as a transport supervisor, stepping into the transport industry with limited knowledge but a strong background in people management and planning, bolstered by my master’s in international Procurement and Supply Management. Transitioning from theory to practical application was a significant learning experience, revealing the vast complexities of the transport sector. Over the past two years, I have been fortunate to lead various projects and planning initiatives, receiving unwavering support from my manager, which allowed me to grow both personally and professionally.

The numerous leadership and management training sessions have played a crucial role in enhancing my leadership qualities and decision-making skills. Last year, I completed my Transport Manager's Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC), which further solidified my understanding of the regulations and best practices within the industry. This comprehensive training has equipped me to make informed and progressive decisions that positively impact our operations.

As I step into the role of Assistant Transport Operations Manager, I am excited about the future opportunities that lie ahead. The skills and experiences I have acquired at Martin Brower have not only prepared me for this advancement but have also opened doors to further career growth within the dynamic logistics and transport field. I am eager to continue contributing to the success of our team, driving innovations, and exploring new challenges that will help shape the future of transport management.

Fleet Manager

I was excited to join Martin Brower when the Coventry DC opened and got to prepare the first journeys going out! I started as a Transport Clerk in 2018, moved up to a Transport Shift Manager in 2020, and then jumped at the chance to become a Fleet Technician in 2023. Now, I’m a Fleet Manager as of 2024! I definitely recommend working at MB to anyone looking to grow in their career and as a person. MB’s core values are strong, and the MB team is always supportive and friendly!

Hemel DC

Hello! I’m excited to share my journey with Martin Brower, which began in 2008. Initially, I worked with the agency for VMI before moving to a full-time position as a warehouse operative at the New Hemel site, where I spent about a year gaining valuable experience.

When Martin Brower secured the En Route contract at VMI, I took on the challenge of picking in the freezer, which allowed me to grow my skills and eventually become a team leader. This role helped me develop my management abilities.

Over the years, I've completed several training programs, including first aid, fire warden, and MHE instructor courses, further enhancing my commitment to safety and teamwork.

After three years as a team leader, I stepped up to temporarily fill the VMI management position. I was thrilled to take on the role permanently and have served as the VMI manager for the past eight years. Recently, I’ve also taken on the management of Hygiene/Reverse Logistics and chair the employee forum, allowing me to connect with various departments.

I believe my journey showcases the great opportunities within Martin Brower, and I'm grateful for all the experiences along the way. Here's to continued success and teamwork!

Darlington Apprentice

My experience here at Martin Brower has been truly an amazing journey. From being given the opportunity to join as an apprentice to gain my HGV license at the age of 18 to now having my full license and being a full-time MB driver is truly remarkable. I would urge anyone interested to get themselves applying for this brilliant job!

Shift Supervisor

I joined Martin Brower in August 2011 based at Heywood DC main duties picking/loading/Inbound and FLT driver. In November 2018 I took the opportunity to come to the new Coventry DC for three months to train staff and pass on my skills and experience. In June 2019 an exciting new challenge arose when I applied for a shift supervisor position for which I was successful and moved with my family to Coventry on a permanent basis. I have always enjoyed working for Martin Brower and I’m looking forward to gaining my 15 years’ service award in 2026 and for many more successful years after that.

John Cannell

Shift Supervisor

I started at Martin Brower in June 2019 as a picker, I got trained on loading and really enjoyed that. In January 2021, I applied for the chamber lead job and was successful. Primarily, I ran the loading bay and helped the management team to run the shift when needed. In January 2022, a supervisor job became available. I applied for it and got the job. I now run the shift with another supervisor and manager. I am looking forward to what the future has to offer at Martin Brower.
