Due to a restructure of the manufacturing senior leadership team at the facility in Matlock, they are looking to recruit an exceptional Production Manager.

Job Description

  • Directing and managing the day-to-day activities
  • Achieving Safety leadership at all levels including shop floor employees.
  • Implementing company policies, procedures and initiatives.
  • Working closely and liaising with support functions (HSQE, HR, IT and Engineering).
  • Ensuring compliance with laws and regulations and staying up to date with current business policies and procedures.
  • Implementation of the company's annual quality, environmental and health & safety plans.
  • Controlling of all aspects of Production processes including their quality, environmental and health and safety aspects, impacts and records.
  • Supporting the Sales and Operations Planning (SOP) process working to Min/Max stock levels and adherence to production plans for on time in full deliveries to customers.
  • Providing resources to achieve adherence to annual, monthly and weekly Operational Production Plans for core and value-added operations.
  • Developing and implementing annual plans to deliver cost reduction in operational areas.
  • Control of production and the provision of all necessary resources to meet operational needs and targets.
  • Ensuring and providing resources for quality and environmental process control as well as material refining and blending, to meet market product sales.
  • Ensuring sufficient skills and competences are available to meet operational objectives.
  • Product and reject control and identification.
  • Liaising with the Plant Manager, Engineering Manager, as well as other Senior Managers, Engineering and Maintenance representatives.
  • Liaising with area Maintenance Coordinators to prioritise and arrange plant maintenance.
  • Leading CI and other Lean projects and ensuring monthly improvement meetings are documented and actioned.
  • Ensure SAP inputs are completed for the area.
  • Responsible for area budget.
  • Performing HR related duties such as recruiting, counselling, disciplining and developing employees
  • Attending the Monthly Management Meeting with the Senior Management Team

The Successful Applicant

  • A qualification in operational management, process engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience in managing a 24hr operation preferably in a process related industry.
  • A strong understanding of the principles to ensure Health and Safety regulations are adhered to.
  • An excellent understanding of handling confidential information and knowledge on GDPR laws
  • Continuous improvement in company health & safety performance.
  • An understanding of lean principles including 5S and TPM.
  • The creation of new ideas to deliver continuous cost reduction ideas.
  • An understanding of production processes to ensure reliability and efficiency.
  • An ability to develop effective multi-functional and production teams.
  • Experience in planning and organising production schedules.
  • Determining quality control standards, including standard operating procedures.
  • Excellent IT skills, strong presentation, communication and numerical skills.
  • Excellent methodical / organisation skills and accuracy.
  • Self motivation and an ability to use your initiative and work pro-actively.
  • A strong understanding of the importance of and commitment towards upholding HSE.
