Job Description

The People Data and Insight Officer is responsible for the data that underpins key areas of the People and Culture team's work including the design and delivery of all people metrics, data and records management in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and GDPR. Your work will enable senior leaders to make evidenced based, data driven decisions in order to deliver the organisation's overall strategic objectives. You will join the team at an exciting time, as we implement a new HR information system (HRIS).

We are looking for someone who enjoys collaborating with others and has experience in people analytics and/or producing and analysing management information to support business decisions. You will need advanced Excel skills and be able to interpret and explain data and outcomes in a clear and straightforward manner.

As a People Data and Insights Officer you will be responsible for:

  • Reviewing of current data collection and data management processes, outputs and required reporting.
  • Designing and implementing revised reports to meet both business needs and all people metric reporting requirements.
  • Liaising with, and giving advice to, operational and corporate leads to produce meaningful reports, data and narrative for regular and ad hoc purposes.
  • Contributing and advising on the delivery of improvements to people and culture services including process design, work flows and assurance. Supporting senior leaders as to the information they need to do their jobs, to enable practical decision making.
  • Preparing draft responses to Parliamentary Questions and Freedom of Information Act requests in accordance with protocols and guidance.
  • Responsible for timely and accurate completion of regular HR returns, for both internal and external customers.

What's on Offer

£34,437 - £37,853 (Band D)

Staff applying on promotion within the Civil Service will usually be appointed to the salary minimum or receive a 10% increase on their existing salary. Individuals appointed on level transfer will retain their existing salary.

A Civil Service Pension with an average employer contribution of 27% (details open in a new window)

Location

The role will initially be based at our offices at 2-4 Cockspur Street, London, SW1Y 5BS, in central London.

Please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK & not overseas. Informal hybrid working arrangements apply & there is an expectation that staff will attend the office regularly. Work pattern & office attendance will be agreed with successful candidates
