You will look after all building services, plant and equipment and ensure it's safe and proper use.Service, test, diagnose, and repair and calibrate advanced Mechanical & Electrical plant and equipment such as HVAC, Air handling units, mains distribution systems and standby power systems. and UPS systems.Knowledge of procedures or the ability to assemble, install and commission new work and diagnose and rectify faults on items of engineering plant, alarm systems, complex equipment and contribute to design where required.Use highly complex technical information and drawings when servicing and commissioning new plant and equipment or fault finding.Using your knowledge of domestic hot water systems, 400V generator standby sets and UPS systems.Building maintenance - lighting - mains distribution, small power lighting, heating ventilation and air conditioning.To be able to work on all types of air-conditioning plant and ventilation systems.Experience with Building Management Systems.Hold, or be prepared to accept with relevant training, Competent Person (CP) responsibilities in such areas as Medical Gas Pipeline Systems (MGPS), Electrical High & Low Voltage Systems (HV/LV), Legionella; and Test Person responsibilities for Washer Disinfectors and Sterilisers The Successful ApplicantA competent Multi-Skilled Engineer with experience in Mechanical and Electrical and building maintenance in a commercial estate.A BTEC ONC/ City & Guilds in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering or equivalent knowledge and experience.NHS experience is not essential, but a technical grounding with complex estates would be ideal.An excellent communicator at all levels.A person who can see opportunities to overcome challenges with excellent and communication skills.Be part of a small team to manage new hospital site.While previous experience is desirable we're really interested in someone willing to learn and to develop a career within the NHS.What's on OfferNHFM offer a significant benefits package, and can offer a salary of £29,970 - £36,483 for a 37 Hour week Monday to Friday dependent on experience and in line with NHS Agenda for Change Terms & Conditions.Benefits on offer include:NHS Pension scheme which currently includes Employer contribution of 23.7%Attractive overtime rates and on Call paymentsAn attractive annual leave package, starting at 27 days per year plus bank holidays (increasing with years service)A 'Fleet my new car!' staff benefit salary sacrifice or salary deduction scheme providing access to lease cars.Range of Health & Wellbeing services accessCycle to work schemeDiscount Schemes and Staff DiscountsAccess to substantial Learning and Development opportunitiesNext StepsPlease visit our recruitment site for wider information around the roles and to see our 'All About Us' video. https://www.michaelpage.co.uk/clientprofile/northumbria-healthcare-facilities-managementFor more information about the role and to express your interest, contact Steph McKay at Michael Page on 0113 243 7734 a confidential discussion.
