Based in Hertfordshire, this is a hands-on leadership role that requires strategic thinking, operational expertise and a customer-focused mindset. Key responsibilities will include:Overseeing the logistics operation to include; warehousing, transportation and pallet network distribution.Development and implementation of strategic plans to optimise efficiency, reduce costs and improve service levels.Overseeing warehouse operations, ensuring smooth handling of inbound and outbound stock.Optimisation of pallet routing, load planning and vehicle utilisation to reduce costs and improve efficiency.Acting as the main point of contact for key customers, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.Ensuring accurate inventory control, minimising discrepancies and maximising storage efficiency.Implementing best practice for stock management, order fulfilment and space optimisation.Providing coaching, training and performance management to enhance team efficiency.Fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability and customer service excellence.Ensure full compliance with transport laws, H&S regulations and industry standards.The Successful ApplicantThe Logistics Operations Manager will live within a commuting distance of our client's operation in Hertfordshire and be able to demonstrate the following experience:Proven experience in leading warehouse operations, ideally within a 3PL environment.Strong leadership and operational management experience.Knowledge of transport operations including; transport planning and freight management.Commercial awareness with strong negotiation and relationship management skills.Excellent problem-solving, decision-making and organisational skills.Experience of BRC accreditation would be advantageous.What's on OfferA competitive salary between £60,000 - £70,000 will be on offer to the successful candidate (depending on experience).
