The role will own the full employee journey from sourcing new recruits, supporting recruitment and on-boarding, training, and coaching, management of any ER casework, and off-boarding, and will be responsible for 1 direct report and a department budget.Key Responsibilities:Support the overall business needs and priorities, by providing a proactive HR service across the sitePartner with and build effective relationships with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and People Managers, providing support and guidance on all people related issuesPartner with line management to provide sound HR advice, guidance and support throughout the full employee journey. You will be seen as the expert in HR matters and be able to provide accurate, risk- based judgements and adviceBuild effective relationships with colleagues at all levels, providing advice and guidance on a range of HR-related issuesProvide site-level decision-making on all HR processesLead on the resourcing/ recruitment of senior hires, up to SLT-levelResponsible for driving efficiency in average cost of hire and recruitment processesOptimise resourcing through various external parties including apprenticeshipsFacilitate and manage the full recruitment and selection process, including screening candidates, arranging interviews and coaching hiring managers on best practiseWork with HR Shared Services on the delivery of processes and proceduresCoach People Managers and the Senior Management to manage any performance and capability issues, in order to drive a high performing cultureContribute to the Personal Development Plan process with the wider HR Team regarding people and team development needs and opportunitiesManages the colleague review processes alongside the wider HR teamEnsure effective monitoring of sickness trends and action in accordance with HR policyPromote a proactive approach to absence managementEnsure formal, fair and legally compliant processes are followed through record keeping and legal guidance when dealing with investigations, grievances, disciplinaries and redundanciesWork with the HR Business Partner and People Managers on creating and implementing action plans following the annual employee engagement surveyProvide ad hoc reports as and when requested by the SLT members e.g. pay benchmarkingLead on effective internal communicationsContribute to the regular review of HR processes to continuously improve the employee lifecycleAttends regular cross-site, HR team meetings and reviews, offering support to HR AdvisorsAdminister Occupational Health support as requiredWorking with the SLT and site management teams to deliver end of year processesHas a continuous improvement mindset, consistently looking for ways to bring positive initiatives and change to siteThe Successful ApplicantA relevant HR qualification e.g. CIPD level 5 or equivalentPrevious HR experience is essential, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment, although this is not essentialStrong knowledge of employment law, employment regulations, and compliance standards in the manufacturing sectorExperience of working with unions is an advantageExcellent understanding of HR best practices, including recruitment, employee relations, and performance managementStrong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to effectively manage HR operations in a fast-paced manufacturing settingAbility to develop and implement HR policies that align with business objectivesExperience handling workplace safety, health, and compliance programmes in a manufacturing settingProficiency in HRIS systemsStrong conflict resolution and negotiation skillsWhat's on Offer£55,000 per annum15% annual bonus (based on personal and company performance)Hybrid working (1 day wfh per week)Excellent employee benefits, including generous holiday allowanceContactLaura ThompsonQuote job refJN-012025-6647250Phone number+44 191 490 4121Job summaryJob functionHuman ResourcesSubsectorHR ManagerSectorIndustrial / ManufacturingLocationOldhamContract typePermanentConsultant nameLaura ThompsonConsultant phone+44 191 490 4121Job referenceJN-012025-6647250
