Job Description

  • Conduct in-depth property surveys using specialist equipment to assess disrepair and minor structural defects.
  • Carry out joint surveys with expert witnesses to agree on remedial works and estimate costs.
  • Manage remedial projects, including site visits and inspections, ensuring compliance with specifications and quality standards.
  • Prepare and prioritise work schedules, monitor completion dates, and oversee internal and external contractors.
  • Provide repair information to legal teams as required.
  • Undertake various property surveys, including Energy Efficiency, HHSRS, Legionella, and Asbestos.
  • Ensure health and safety compliance on-site, taking appropriate action when necessary.
  • Conduct post-work inspections to assess value for money, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Handle stakeholder enquiries and complaints professionally and efficiently.
  • Evaluate and reconcile accounts for major projects, including fire damage repairs.

The Successful Applicant

  • Qualifications: HNC (or equivalent) in Building or Construction.
  • Experience:
    • Social housing environment and disrepair claim resolution.
    • Working with building contractors and managing repairs.
    • Understanding of Housing legislation, including Section 11 of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985.
    • Knowledge of legal and regulatory compliance (Health & Safety, CDM, Asbestos, Party Wall Act).
    • Expertise in damp, condensation, and Legionella management (L8 ACOP).
    • Experience applying HHSRS legislation.
  • Skills:
    • Strong problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
    • Ability to explain complex issues clearly and challenge when necessary.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
