Business Development Manager - Pharma/OTC.

Job Description

The Business Development Manager - Pharma/OTC will develop the existing, extensive customer portfolio which includes large retail partners in the UK, identifying and on boarding new business opportunities for growth allowing the business to fulfil it's strategic commercial objectives. The BDM will be the conduit between the retailers and their manufacturing arm, planning and informing to hit these goals.

In addition the BDM will:

  • identify and execute strategies to secure new customer relationships
  • provide comprehensive Relationship Management, acting as the principal POC in all customer matters
  • ensure customer contracts and pricing are effectively negotiated
  • conduct regular sales forecasting, analysis and reporting on commercial objectives and customer plans
  • play a key role in reporting to the SLT
  • maintaining and effectively using and updating the CRM
  • on top of trends, develop networks and contacts in the industry to support business development opportunities
  • work closely with the customer service team

The Successful Applicant

The Business Development Manager - Pharma/OTC will come with the following skills and experiences:

  • a proven track record in a sales management or business development capacity in the healthcare/pharma/OTC sectors
  • strong and proven relationship management skills and experiences, with demonstrable experience of commercial growth alongside
  • a strong communicator, presenter and used to dealing with senior buyers and retailers
  • ideally experience of looking after b2b business with the likes of Tesco, Asda, Waitrose, Boots etc.
  • very organised person, self starter, can work on own initiative
  • excellent IT and CRM skills
  • ability to travel nationally for the role to see customers
  • excellent understanding of b2b contracts with retailers ideally from within the healthcare/pharma/OTC environment
  • access to the Hertfordshire office circa 3 days per week
