PageGroup collected opinions from 28,000 UK job applicants* in the months prior to and post the EU referendum vote on the 23rd June 2016. Applicants were asked a range of questions including the following:Why are looking for a new job?How long have you been looking for a job? What is your perception of the current job market in the UK?Do you think the UK job market will change in the next six months?Would you consider job opportunities outside of the UK? We analysed the responses and compared the results to determine if job applicant’s motivations and confidence in the job market have changed subsequent to the Brexit vote. Some of the findings revealed in a two-minute video are surprising. For example, fewer people were concerned about the job market post-election. Less surprising perhaps is the increase in the number of applicants post-vote who would consider moving abroad for work.
