Our client is a leading operator within the freight industry.

Job Description

The Transport Operations Manager will report into the national lead and be based at our client's operation in Heathrow. The role will be the first point of contact for customers and main haulers, with a strong focus on planning, customer satisfaction, communication and overall responsibility for Transport operations. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring compliance with all Transport legislation and Health & Safety requirements.
  • Engaging leadership of the driver operation and associated planning team.
  • Ensuring key performance indicators (KPIs) are achieved; including compliance, service and financial targets.
  • Achieve efficiency through managing, planning & coaching staff on a daily and an ongoing basis.
  • Propose and implement changes to the operation to improve efficiency and/or levels of performance.
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory and Company safety standards.

The Successful Applicant

The successful Transport Operations Manager will live within a commuting distance of Heathrow and be able to demonstrate the following experience:

  • Previous transport leadership experience within a high volume and complex operation.
  • A National/International CPC holder.
  • A track record of setting clear objectives and motivating teams.
  • Significant experience of developing teams within a similar logistics operation would be desirable.
  • Professional, approachable and helpful to ensure smooth running of the general operation.
  • Comfortable in change situations and being able to work with an evolving organisation.

What's on Offer

A competitive salary between £50,000-£60,000 + associated benefits will be on offer to the successful candidate.
