Job Description

  • Managing and overseeing all transport operations.
  • Ensuring compliance with transport policies, legislation and procedures.
  • Developing operational systems to improve efficiency and reduce cost.
  • Directing, coordinating and planning essential central services such as security, maintenance
  • Ensuring the fleet is roadworthy and adhering to legal standards.
  • Monitoring transport costs, vehicle performance and fuel consumption.
  • Managing staff training and development in Bedford and across the network.
  • Ensuring all logistics processes align with the company's goals and business needs.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Transport Manager should have:

  • a Transport manager CPC
  • Proven experience in a managerial role within the logistics sector.
  • Strong knowledge of transport operations and logistics.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills. This will include management of drivers
  • Proficiency in relevant planning software.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
