Save Job Back to Search Job Description Summary Similar JobsTechnical Accountant12 Month ContractAbout Our ClientA major public sector department with hubs across the UK and has strong relationships internationally.Job DescriptionAs the Technical Accountant you will be responsible for:Providing IFRS17 technical accounting advice and guidanceBuilding and developing Excel models performing accounting and modelling calculationsDesigning and supporting new processes, controls, and Working Day Timetables (WDT)Support with Audit engagement requirements and responding to queries.Support the development and implementation of the Accounting Rules, Chart of Accounts, ledger posting and IFRS 17 disclosures.Assist in ensuring that reporting solutions used across the Finance function are fit for purpose in the rollout of IFRS 17.Other ad-hoc tasks as required to ensure business readiness for IFRS 17 (e.g., GL data cleansing, resolving data issues, and supporting data migration).The Successful ApplicantThe successful candidate will be extensive knowledge and experience of IFRS17 ideally within a public sector environment but other industries are welcome. Along with having financial modelling skills and have the ability to make large complex sets of data more manageable for other stakeholders.
