Job Description

  • Lead the development of media relations strategies to promote the organisation's objectives and reputation.
  • Create engaging, relevant content for various media outlets.
  • Coordinate and manage relationships with journalists and other media personnel.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to align media relations efforts with broader marketing strategies.
  • Monitor media coverage and report on effectiveness of strategies.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior members of the team.
  • Handle crisis and reputation management as needed.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and adapt strategies as necessary.

The Successful Applicant

A successful 'Senior Media Relations Officer' should have:

  • A degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or a related field.
  • Experience in a media relations role within the not-for-profit sector.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • A strong understanding of the media landscape.
  • Leadership experience, preferably within a team environment.
  • Experience with crisis and reputation management.
