This is a newly created position in a large business based in Liverpool city centre. The role encompasses preparing management accounts, budgeting and forecasting, and providing financial planning and analysis support to the wider business (and the FP&A team).

You'll benefit from being part of a large business with the development opportunities and the stability that offers, with the advantage of working alongside senior stakeholders both in finance and part of the wider team.

Job Description

As Senior Management Accountant, your responsibilities will include although will not be limited to:

  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including data analysis, journal entries in SAP, and quality reviews (SAP training provided).
  • Prepare quarterly forecasts, annual budget journals, and analyses.
  • Conduct financial analysis to support business objectives.
  • Assist departmental managers with budget and forecast management.
  • Support operations teams with financial reports, trend analysis, and performance metrics.
  • Enhance financial/management information quality and efficiency.
  • Perform financial analysis and forecasting for group cash flow.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects post-SAP transition.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Senior Management Accountant should have:

  • A relevant qualification (CIMA preferred, ACA or ACCA considered)
  • Relevant management accounting experience, preferably in a large organisation
  • Confidence to present to senior stakeholders in the business
  • Excellent IT skills, especially Excel

Although not essential, experience gained managing a team, knowledge of SAP, and / or experience gained in the manufacturing or logistics sector would be highly advantageous.
