Known for its commitment to innovation and excellence, the company is renowned for its positive and inclusive work culture.Job DescriptionThe Senior Financial Accountant will be responsible for financial accounting for the Group's UK operations. This includes a wide range of duties including:Manage month end and year end closingReview and recommend modifications to accounting systems and proceduresResponsible for managing the external audit process with the auditors with the aim of ensuring a clean audit reportPrepare corporation tax computations and tax credit claims and calculationsEnsure VAT complianceDevelop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls in compliance with SOXManage oversight of SOX controls complianceAnalyse and communicate the meaning of financial information and be prepared to challenge the status quoMonthly/quarterly/annual balance sheet analysis, input into P&L reviews, cash projections and manage working capital requirementsCustomer contract accounting to ensure that revenue recognition is performed appropriately and in line with reporting standardsResponsible for the UK financial statements for UK legal entities produced under IFRSMentor/develop junior team members and develop the abilities and inputs of the General Ledger teamCalculate, compare and review the more efficient finance options for the companyProvide support to the business to help assess the financial implications of initiatives or proposalsProvide ad-hoc reports as requested to Group accounting and Group controlling in EuropeConform with and abide by all regulatory guidance and internal policies & proceduresDocument policies, procedures and workflow for assigned areas of responsibilityThe Successful ApplicantA successful Senior Financial Accountant should have:Qualified Accountant (ACA or ACCA)Prior experience of SAP preferredProven experience as a leader of a small team in a busy environmentThorough understanding and knowledge of accounting principles and practices (IFRS)Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills to build relationship and trust with Senior ManagementKnowledge of the UK tax system - understanding of related tax regulations would be beneficialIndependently minded and critical - capable of analysing numbers critically and drawing out relevant conclusionsStrong level of skills with MS PowerPoint, MS Excel and MS OutlookAbility to work under pressure and to tight timelines and to act on own initiativeAbility to motivate, manage and develop a teamAbility to organise initiatives/projects and present actions and outcomes to staff at all levels of the organisationWhat's on OfferAn estimated salary range of £50,000 - £55,000.Benefits of hybrid working, offering a balance between office and remote work.A culture that promotes professional growth and learning.Generous holiday leave.Extensive benefits package.This is an exceptional opportunity to grow your career as a Senior Financial Accountant in the pharmaceutical industry.
