We are therefore seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Finance Manager to contribute to this dynamic environment.

Job Description

As Senior Finance Manager - Management Accounts, your responsibilities will include:



  • Leading the annual budget process and providing guidance to Management Accountants and Finance Officers.


  • Coordinating financial schedules, ensuring timely and accurate data collection.


  • Overseeing month-end close activities and key account reconciliations.


  • Preparing and presenting monthly financial reports to senior management and executive teams, ensuring compliance with financial policies.


  • Managing non-statutory returns and providing financial data to external stakeholders.


  • Aligning financial resources with workforce planning and overseeing timely payroll reconciliations.


  • Monitoring team performance and ensuring adherence to corporate financial policies.


  • Ensuring compliance with Financial Regulations and promoting best practice in financial management.


  • Responding to ad-hoc financial enquiries, including Freedom of Information requests.


  • Leading the development and utilisation of Business Intelligence tools for reporting and system enhancements.


  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives and reviewing budget-setting methodologies.


  • Leading, developing, and managing the Management Accounts team, providing clear leadership and performance support.


  • Acting as deputy to the Management Accountant Lead as required.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal Senior Finance Manager will be/have:



  • Full membership of a recognised professional accountancy body (CIMA, ACCA, CIPFA or equivalent).


  • Extensive and recent experience in management accounting within a complex organisation.


  • Up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and practical financial management.


  • Strong IT skills, including advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with large ERP systems.


  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders.


  • Proven ability to build credible relationships with budget holders and senior management.


  • Commitment to personal and professional development, demonstrating continuous learning.


  • Strong analytical capabilities and attention to detail.


  • Experience in leading and managing a finance team.
