Operating within a highly complex environment, they require experienced finance professionals who can provide strategic insight, robust financial management, and strong stakeholder engagement to ensure value for money for the taxpayer

Job Description

* Provide strategic financial support to senior leaders, influencing decision-making and cost management.

* Embed a culture of accountability, cost control, and productivity across supported directorates.

* Lead on financial planning, budgeting, reforecasting, and cash flow submissions.

* Deliver clear and insightful reporting, variance analysis, and performance interventions.

* Review and challenge business cases and funding requests to ensure value for money.

* Oversee financial controls, governance, and compliance with HM Treasury requirements.

* Manage and develop a team of Finance Business Partners, supporting skills growth and knowledge sharing.

* Drive consistent reporting methodologies and financial processes across the programme.

The Successful Applicant

* Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).

* Proven track record in finance business partnering within a complex or large-scale environment.

* Knowledge of government accounting requirements (DEL/AME funding) highly desirable.

* Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders.

* Commercially astute, with the ability to identify and drive performance improvements.

* Experience managing teams and delivering results to challenging deadlines.

* Proficient in ERP systems, data analytics tools, and complex Excel modelling.
