Job Description

  • Prepare and analyse financial reports to support decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure accurate budget management and forecasting.
  • Provide insights into financial performance and suggest improvements where necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
  • Assist in the preparation of detailed financial models and analyses.
  • Support the accounting team in month-end and year-end financial activities.
  • Monitor financial risks and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Deliver presentations and reports to senior management and other stakeholders.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Senior Finance Analyst should have:

  • A professional qualification in accounting or finance (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in financial analysis and reporting within Local Authority, with a focus on Asset Accounting
  • Strong proficiency in financial systems and tools, including advanced Excel skills.
  • The ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate findings effectively.
  • A thorough understanding of financial compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Exceptional organisational and problem-solving skills.
