As a medium-sized entity, it supports a wide range of stakeholders and prioritises transparency and ethical practices in its operations.Job DescriptionThe Remote Head of Governance will:Develop and implement governance strategies that align with organisational goals.Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and policies.Advise senior leadership on governance best practices and risk management.Oversee the preparation and distribution of board materials and reports.Manage the full meetings cycle for the trust - main trust board & committees for each school (with the assistance of an external co-sec provider).Attendance at meetings will be required.Facilitate effective communication between the board, committees, and stakeholders.Monitor and evaluate governance frameworks for continuous improvement.Provide training and support to board members on governance matters.Lead audits and reviews to ensure adherence to governance standards.The Successful ApplicantA successful Remote Director of Governance should have:A strong understanding of governance frameworks.Education experience is essential - ideally from an academy trust.
