Save Job Back to Search Job Description Summary Similar JobsJoin a business with huge quality and excellence in product developmentProgressive hybrid working environment - Cambridgeshire basedAbout Our ClientMy client are a global business and are experts in their area operating for over 100 yearsThe team works closely with customers and partners to identify their specific needs and design a cost-effective and tailored solution that meets their unique requirementsJob DescriptionMaintaining, evaluating and supporting supplier relationships using excellent verbal and written communication skills is key to success in this position.Raising and maintain purchase orders via the ERP system for both sites of the UK.This Position offers a path for development.Place orders from internal PO requests for both sites in the UK.Chase overdue and upcoming orders for both sites in the UK.Liaise with suppliers to expedite, cancel or push back orders according to system demand.Maintain accurate records for all purchasing activities ensuring that information is always up to date and correctAttend both off- and on-site visits with suppliers for audit purposes.Attend daily production meetings and work closely with the Production Planning teamWork with the other teams to make sure demand is satisfied. Some travel to another site will be required.Use Lean5S training to actively review the purchasing procedures and work instructions and eliminate any waste in the processes.Be flexible and willing to involve yourself in other tasks as required by the company.The Successful Applicant*Strong Microsoft Excel skills.*Proven negotiations skills to secure discounts whilst maintaining excellent relationships with suppliers.*Excellent verbal and written communication skills.*Previous experience in a manufacturing purchasing environment.*Ability to react quickly to changes in demand.*Experience with ERP systems.*Full clean driving licenceWhat's on OfferSalary from £28,000-£35,000Hybrid Working (3 days on site, 2 days remote once probation passed after 6 months)Learning and Development budget for long term progression (interview discussion)Flexi time (Core hours 10-3 Monday to Thursday, no core hours Fridays.
