Michael Page is working with a growing FMCG business to recruit an experienced Production Manager for their Blending and Blowmoulding departments at their Manchester based plant. They will manage a complex team and process and will be tasked to optimise the production processes whilst ensuring quality, efficiency, and safety throughout the department.

Job Description

The Production Manager will be responsible for 2 departments, 4 direct reports and approx 80. team members within a fast paced,24/7 manufacturing environment,. They will:

  • Ensure the quality, efficiency, and safety of all manufacturing operations
  • Manage and optimise the blending and blowmoulding production processes
  • Champion, initiate and drive forward Lean and range of continuous improvement projects.
  • Implement process improvements to increase production efficiency
  • Drive the strategic development of the Filling, Blending and Blowmoulding Departments
  • Champion the development of staff at all levels through training, appraisals, talent reviews and regular briefings
  • Ensure compliance with company and industry regulation
  • Liaise with suppliers and other stakeholders as required

The Successful Applicant

The successful Production Manager will possess a range for the following:

  • Proven experience in a similar position within the FMCG industry
  • Demonstrable leadership acumen
  • Experience implementing and driving lean principles and continuous improvement
  • The ability to work autonomously
  • Experience working with complex processes at pace
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision making skills
  • Strategic thinker
  • Strong communication and team management abilities
