Job Description

The main responsibilities of the Payroll Assistant are:

  • Assist in the preparation and processing of payroll for all company employees.
  • Process both 4 weekly and monthly payrolls covering 400 staff.
  • Ensure accuracy of payroll records by maintaining a robust tracking system.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer employee queries about payments.
  • Prepare reports for upper management, finance department etc.
  • Handle benefits packages, including insurance and pension contributions.
  • Stay updated with changes in tax and deduction laws that apply to the payroll process.
  • Work closely with the HR department to synchronise all employee data.
  • Contribute to the efficient and smooth running of the Accounting & Finance department.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Payroll Assistant should have:

  • A solid understanding of payroll.
  • Proven experience in data collection, entry and reporting with great attention to detail and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and good knowledge of sage 50.
  • Outstanding organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
