Save Job Back to Search Job Description Summary Similar JobsTop 20 Accounting firmCompetitive bonus schemeAbout Our ClientThis is a Top 20 accountancy practice with an excellence presence in Manchester of over 100 people and beautifully refurbished offices.Being part of a global network, this is a leading, independent accounting and consulting firm with access to local insights on a global scale.Job DescriptionYou will have responsibility for managing a portfolio of clients that operate in a range of sectors and the role would include (but is not limited to) the following key elements, within agreed deadlines:Supervising the preparation of year-end financial statementsHigh level reviews of management accounts and VAT returnsLeading a team on large outsourcing projectsFinancial managementWork planning and annual timetabling, ensuring that internal timetables are met by junior teamTaking ownership of ad-hoc advisory projectsCross-departmental communication (liaising with tax and audit teams)Supervising the coaching and development of qualified staff and traineesBuilding and maintaining client relationshipsThe Successful ApplicantPreferably ACA/ACCA qualified and a number of years' experience of working in practice.Strong numeracy and analytical skills, along with the ability to learn quickly.A good knowledge of Excel and Word is essential.A good understanding of MTD bookkeeping software packages, such as Xero.Understanding of other accounting systems would be helpful but is not an essential requirement.Self-motivated and pro-active, with the ability to organise your own workload.Display a flexible, professional approach and have the confidence and ability to communicate effectively with managers, partners and clients.Natural team player with a positive and enthusiastic attitude and excellent eye for detail.What's on OfferA 35 hour working week with a hybrid working policy with the flexibility to work from home for up to three days per week (our core hours are 10-4)Excellent benefits including; contributory pension scheme, 25 days annual leave, Life Assurance cover and great flexible benefits and family friendly policies.Eligibility for the firm's Profit-Sharing Plan.
