My client is looking for an engineer that has 17th or 18th edition who is keen on developing both their electrical and mechanical skills further within the Food Packing manufacturing industry. Shift patterns are as follow:Two Weeks of M-F 6AM-3 PM Days & One Week of M-Thurs 2-10PM *long weekend every three weeks*

Founded in 1950s and headquartered in Eurpoe, my cleint is the largest private label UK & EU manufacturer within their Food group. A family-owned multinational, it operates a UK division in Bedfordshire /Luton Greater Area, and produces over 60,000 tonnes annually across 8 factories, serving customers in retail, foodservice, wholesale, vending, and B2B sectors. Due to growth, my client is looking to expand their Engineering department with a CI / Multi Skilled Engineer!

Job Description

  • Collaborate with the Lead Engineer to plan and prioritize tasks, minimizing downtime and maximizing output.
  • Ensure maintenance priorities (PPMs) are completed on schedule and properly logged in SAP, with any delays communicated.
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns on site, minimizing downtime of plant equipment and machinery.
  • Perform repairs to plant, equipment, and facilities during production, efficiently and effectively, either independently or as part of a team.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve standards, and enhance efficiency across all areas.
  • Meet hygiene audit standards within the engineering function and assist in planning and executing routine shutdowns for hygiene purposes.
  • Promote and lead continuous improvement initiatives within the company.
  • Oversee the maintenance of service equipment.
  • Collaborate proactively with all Team Leaders to foster a culture of safe working practices and a safe environment.
  • Work to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Participate in the out-of-hours on-call system as required.



The Successful Applicant

Essential:

  • 17th or 18th Edition Electrical Wiring Regs
  • 1+ years of experience within Food or Beverage or other FMCG manufacturing experience



Desirable:

  • Auto-Cad software
  • PLC programming & fault finding
  • FLT license
  • IPAF 3a & 3b or equivalent
  • Knowledge of quality systems and documentation
  • HND/HNC in electrical/mechanical engineering or equivalent
  • Engineering background (mechanical/electrical)
  • Experience in the food industry and FMCG
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and team skills
  • Customer-focused with excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Adaptable to change with the ability to manage varied workloads
  • Effective communication at all levels, both written and verbal
  • Strong decision-making and influencing skills
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers, customers, and colleagues
  • Self-motivated and proactive
