Located in Guildford, they take pride in delivering exceptional services to their clients, fostering a supportive environment for their employees, and contributing positively to the local communityJob DescriptionThe Mixed Tax Senior will manage tax compliance for a portfolio of clients and to provide support to the Partners and Managers as part of the Firm's wider tax consultancy service to clients.Your key responsibilities will include:Responsibility for the compliance function for a mixed personal tax and corporate tax client portfolio. This includes:Preparation of personal and corporate tax returns for a broad range of clientsMonitoring tax return progress to ensure timely completion and submission to HMRCAdvising tax clients of tax liabilities due on a timely basisLiaising directly with clients to ensure both accurate and prompt completion of tax returnsTax advisory duties: to attend client meetings, take notes; assist with the tax advice arising by creating documents, spreadsheets and reports for the client. Manage the progress of each advisory project. Prepare the necessary tax returns regarding the results of the project. Drafting the fees.Assistance with regards to Employment taxes, including preparation of form P11Ds, assistance with PAYE settlement agreements and preparation of ERS returns.Ability to prepare ATED returns.Dealing with technical queries as and when required, including the following areas:Basic Corporation Tax computations including capital allowance claims, Groups, research and development relief claims, overseas withholding tax set off and the new loss relief rulesEmployment related queries, including benefit in kind, allowable expenses and ERS returnsBasic Capital Gains Tax planning, use of annual exemption including principal private residence exemption, use of holdover relief, optimum use of lossesBasic knowledge of CGT computations for shares, land & property, spouse and connected party transfersCommunicating effectively with clients both orally and in writingDealing with all client queries promptly and efficientlyReporting to the client partner on all matters relevant to the client's tax affairs including billingIdentifying tax planning opportunities and following these through with the relevant partner.Dealing with routine HMRC enquiries from inception to completion.Other Duties and TasksAttend clients' premises and the Firm's other office in London as and when required.Work with Partners and staff to provide a personal, professional service for the benefit of both clients and the firm.Attend technical update courses and maintain annual CPD declarations.Such other duties as may be reasonably expected of the post holder.The Successful ApplicantEssential:A minimum of 3 years' tax experience within a professional accountancy practice with CTA qualification/ACA or ACCA qualified or part-qualified (study support available to complete qualification); or QBE (minimum of 5 years).If not CTA qualified has a willingness to study for CTADemonstrates a good level of understanding of own technical/professional functionExperience of working on long term client relationships and of working on a fee basis with clientsComputer literate with a good working knowledge of ExcelDesirable:A good working of Alphatax, CCH Personal Tax and CCH Documents FilingWhat's on OfferA competitive salary range of £40,000 - £50,000.A supportive and inclusive company culture.Opportunities for personal growth and career progression.A dynamic work environment in the vibrant city of Guildford.Hybrid working.ContactRyan LeggettQuote job refJN-052025-6748864Phone number+44 162 260 4518Job summaryJob functionTaxSubsectorTax PracticeSectorFinancial ServicesLocationGuildfordContract typePermanentConsultant nameRyan LeggettConsultant phone+44 162 260 4518Job referenceJN-052025-6748864
