About Our Client

My client is a well-funded start-up, that is rapidly expanding producer of high-quality food products-made with heirloom ingredients and time-honored methods. Based out of Park Royal London, and selling into QSR and Catering companies, they are looking for a proactive, hands-on Production Manager to oversee manufacturing during this scale-up period of time and beyond.

Job Description

Production Oversight



  • Lead daily tortilla and salsa production, meeting output and quality targets


  • Manage product changeovers and schedules with minimal downtime


  • Track key production metrics (yield, labour, waste) and resolve inefficiencies


  • Maintain accurate batch tracking and ERP records



Team Management



  • Supervise, train, and support production and hygiene staff


  • Manage staffing plans, rotas, breaks, and holiday cover


  • Build a collaborative team culture with clear communication and performance reviews



Quality & Compliance



  • Maintain and improve food safety, allergen, and hygiene standards


  • Investigate customer complaints and non-conformances


  • Conduct internal audits and ensure readiness for SALSA and customer audits



Inventory & Materials Control



  • Manage raw materials, packaging, and WIP inventory


  • Minimize waste and support accurate stock tracking


  • Participate in inventory counts and resolve discrepancies



Equipment & Maintenance Coordination



  • Collaborate with Maintenance Engineer on planned maintenance and downtime tracking


  • Ensure equipment is safe, operational, and well maintained


  • Report and help resolve technical issues to reduce future disruptions



Health & Safety Leadership



  • Enforce site health and safety policies and staff training


  • Own and update risk assessments for production areas


  • Maintain high housekeeping standards across all operational zones

The Successful Applicant



  • Food Production Experience: 5+ years in food manufacturing, ideally with exposure to both bakery and wet-line processes


  • Team Leadership: Proven experience managing or supervising production teams


  • Technical Knowledge: Hands-on understanding of dough handling and/or cooked product manufacturing (e.g., sauces, soups, salsas)


  • Food Safety Compliance: Familiar with HACCP, allergen control, and food safety standards


  • Systems Proficiency: Strong ERP/MRP system experience, with ability to manage batch traceability and production data


  • Mechanical & Electrical Skills: Solid mechanical knowledge essential; basic electrical skills a plus


  • Leadership & Communication: Strong communicator, confident in leading team meetings, reviews, and updates

  • Salary: £35,000-£45,000, depending on experience
