A long-established, family-owned manufacturing business based in Cheshire, producing high-quality products for UK and international markets.

Job Description

  • Prepare and analyse financial reports to support decision-making processes.
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis for the business.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end financial close processes.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Collaborate with department heads to monitor financial performance.
  • Provide financial insights to drive cost efficiencies and profitability.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Support audits and liaise with external auditors as required.

The Successful Applicant

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or actively studying towards qualification
  • Minimum 2 years' management accounting experience in industry or a small accountancy practice
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, SUMIF, VLOOKUP, advanced formulas)
  • Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, or tangible product/stock environments preferred
  • Ability to self-manage, spot anomalies, and resolve issues proactively
  • Confident communicator able to challenge, push back, and deliver accurate figures
  • Potential to manage an Assistant Accountant
