Job Description

  • Prepare departmental Profit and Loss reports.
  • Manage project accounting and submit grant claims.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and intercompany analysis.
  • Support year-end processes with financial statements and working papers.
  • Maintain an accurate fixed asset register aligned with governance standards.
  • Work with budget holders to produce accurate forecasts and budgets.
  • Complete monthly management accounts on time.
  • Post journals, including accruals and prepayments.
  • Analyse performance against budget, forecast, and KPIs, identifying trends and providing actionable insights.
  • Present financial data clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Submit gift aid, VAT, and National Statistics returns.
  • Provide finance team coverage during absences.

The Successful Applicant

  • Skilled in Financial and Management Accounting.
  • Experienced in year-end processes and preparing working papers for financial statements.
  • Background in busy finance teams, with flexibility to cover multiple roles.
  • Proactive and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong planning, organisational, and time management skills.
  • Effective communicator, confident in presenting financial data to senior management.
  • Proficient in finance systems and MS Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
