About Our Client

Our client is a large and growing UK independent retailer in over 220 locations nationally.They have just celebrated their 30th birthday and had a record breaking year in revenue for 2024 so they are looking to continue on their growth path with a talented, entrepreneurial legal director to join the team.

Job Description

The Legal Director will:



  • Oversee the review, drafting, and negotiation of commercial contracts


  • Manage litigation and dispute resolution processes


  • Ensure compliance with GDPR and data protection regulations


  • Advise on intellectual property matters and brand protection


  • Collaborate with senior leadership on legal strategy and risk management

The Successful Applicant

The Legal Director should be:



  • A solicitor with 5+ years' PQE in commercial law and dispute resolution


  • Experienced in managing in-house legal functions


  • Proficient in GDPR and data protection compliance


  • Skilled in negotiating and drafting commercial contracts


  • Able to communicate complex legal issues effectively to non-legal stakeholder



Should ideally have experience from retail or similar industry.

This is an on-site role so you should be local to Manchester.
