This is wide ranging role, the legal team regularly supports the business on Commercial Contracting, Procurement, Construction, Operations, Consenting, Land and Property, HR, Health and Safety and Information Technology. You do not have to have expertise in all of the areas set out here, strong commercial contracting, construction or procurement expertise would be looked upon favourably. During your course of employment you will find yourself providing coverage in areas including but not limited to:Negotiating, drafting, and reviewing key commercial contracts across the organisation's operational remit (including construction and procurement, including IT)Advising on property/planning/DCO matters such as the negotiation and drafting of access licences and applications to authorise the construction and use of the infrastructure.Liaising with external legal advisers on commercial, environmental, planning, policy and regulatory matters.Assisting with the delivery of several legal team activities relating to governance, good decision making, establishing standard form legal documents and processes etc. You will also identify and develop your own remit within this space.The Successful ApplicantThe successful applicant will be a Lawyer, qualified in the UK or another Common Law Jurisdiction.Based on the work on offer and the package available for this role, they will be likely to have between 3 and 6 years of post qualification experience, but the role is open to applicants at any level of experience. Our Client is looking for someone with strong drafting and advisory skills. The Legal Team regularly engages specialist construction, planning, transport, and regulatory lawyers so experience in these specialisations is less essential than strong legal skills like drafting and advising.
