You will work apart of a team which manages lending to local authorities, short-term deposits, and funds for a national debt commission. You will support operations across functions, ensuring targets are met and high-quality service is provided. This role aims to expand team capacity during a period of increased activity.

You will be working for a Government Organisation based in Central London.

Job Description

The key duties of this role are as followed:

  • Process and requests (e.g. loan and deposit applications) in accordance with the relevant internal controls and the terms of the facility
  • Process the premature repayment of loans ensuring that the settlement of funds is completed timely
  • Respond to all queries received from stakeholders in a timely manner
  • Produce reports (and statistics) for internal and external stakeholders (including Senior Management)
  • Support the wider team regarding policy issues
  • Prepare materials and help facilitate relevant meetings with internal and external stakeholders
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure service requirements are met and to seek and implement process improvements and monitor issues affecting Public Sector finance
  • Help maintain and update operational procedures as required
  • Ensure arrangements for business continuity for critical business processes are understood and kept up to date
  • Continually seek process improvements and manage operational risk whilst working within the business change management framework to initiate and implement change

The Successful Applicant

To be successful in this position you will have the following:

  • Delivery focused with excellent attention to detail
  • Communication & Stakeholder management: Collaborate and communicate effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Pro-active: Identify areas for process improvement, previous business change experience is desirable
  • Time management: Produce detailed and accurate reporting within tight deadlines
  • Client Service: At least one year's client service experience. Knowledge of and previous financial markets experience is highly desirable
  • IT skills: Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, strong data entry and handling capabilities.
  • Analytical skills: Ability to prepare financial reports and experience with fund reconciliations.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills

A relevant degree and qualification preferred; IOC qualification (IMC preferred).
