The role involves conducting audit procedures while overseeing and supporting junior staff.

Job Description

  • Plan and execute audits to assess risks and controls, recommending improvements.
  • Draft audit scope documents, design Risk and Control Matrices, and ensure audits align with IA Manual and IIA standards.
  • Conduct audit testing on time and to quality standards, documenting findings for business stakeholders and leading status updates.
  • Prepare and review workpapers to ensure audit procedures support conclusions and comply with IIA standards.
  • Collaborate with audit team members and outsourced partners to achieve engagement objectives.
  • Analyze audit findings, identify root causes, assess risks, and develop practical recommendations.
  • Communicate audit observations and recommendations effectively, drafting clear audit reports.
  • Maintain professional relationships with management, colleagues, and co-source partners.
  • Manage assigned workload and support junior team members where applicable.
  • Assist in preparing materials for Audit Committees, Exec Committees, and stakeholders.



The Successful Applicant

A successful Internal Audit Manager should have:

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional certification in internal auditing.
  • Proven experience in internal auditing within the energy and natural resources industry.
  • Strong knowledge of audit standards and regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Highly analytical with strong problem-solving skills.
