The Interim Head of H&S is the organisations named person who is responsible for H&S compliance. The post holder is responsible for the development, implementation and continual review and improvement of a H&S management system. Establishing strong working relationships with the leadership team and overseeing the development and delivery of operational H&S plans through business partnering.

My client is a leading housing provider in the Midlands who providers over 20,000 properties to tenants all across the region.

Job Description

  • Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures across the property department.
  • Manage a multi disciplined team made up of H&S Managers, Team Leaders and Advisors
  • Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on all health and safety matters to staff and stakeholders.
  • Oversee incident investigations and ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken.
  • Deliver training programmes to enhance health and safety awareness within the organisation.
  • Collaborate with teams to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Prepare detailed reports on health and safety performance and present findings to senior management.
  • Ensure all property-related projects adhere to health and safety standards.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Interim Head of Health & Safety should have:

  • Proven expertise in health and safety management, preferably within the property sector.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments and implementing safety measures.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to influence and guide teams.
  • A recognised qualification in health and safety, such as NEBOSH or IOSH.
  • Ability to handle complex projects and drive compliance effectively.
