The role requires in-depth knowledge of accounting principles [former IAS 32/39 - IFSR 9 Impairments], hedge accounting standards, and regulatory requirements, combined with any MI and Reporting.

Job Description

  • Manage and oversee all aspects of hedge accounting
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations [former IAS 32/39 - IFRS 9 Impairments, Cash Flow, Fair Value]
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on hedge activities [products sitting at global level - FX / IR / Credit / Net Investment Hedging] and performance [MI]
  • Collaborate with internal teams to improve financial efficiency and profitability
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks related to hedging
  • Stay up-to-date on changes in financial regulations and standards
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of department goals and strategies
  • Provide guidance and support to junior team members

The Successful Applicant

A successful Hedge Accountant AVP should have:

  • A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CPA, all others welcome)
  • Excellent Excel skills (VBA, SQL, Python highly desirable but not necessary)
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations - knowledge of language of Hedge Accounting (Cash Flow, Fair Value)
  • Experience with hedge accounting in the financial services industry
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities
