Job Description

Seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Sales (Dealer Network Manager) to drive growth through an extensive dealer network. The successful candidate will lead and develop a team of dealer managers responsible for specific territories, each overseeing a network of 30 to 40 dealers. This role requires a deep understanding of sales facilitation, marketing, and business development through channel partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Dealer Network Management: Develop, implement, and optimise strategies to drive sales growth through the dealer network. Appoint new dealers and manage dealer performance, including letting go of under-performing ones.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of dealer managers, ensuring they effectively support and develop their assigned territories.
  • Sales & Business Development: Drive revenue growth by creating demand, managing stock-holding, and developing national accounts.
  • Marketing & Brand Management: Work closely with marketing teams to develop brand strategies, advertising campaigns, dealer incentives, and promotional events.
  • Training & Events: Organise dealer training programs, product launches, and industry trade shows to enhance dealer engagement and market presence.
  • Forecasting & New Product Development: Collaborate with internal teams to provide sales forecasts, influence product development, and ensure alignment with market demands.
  • Single Framework Agreements & Incentives: Manage and negotiate dealer agreements, incentive programs, and partnership frameworks.

The Successful Applicant

The Head of Sales (Dealer Network Manager) will have:

  • Proven experience managing a multi-site dealer or distributor network within a relevant industry.
  • Strong background in sales, ideally within a high-value equipment or machinery sector.
  • Ability to develop strategic sales plans and execute them through a dealer network.
  • Demonstrated experience in demand creation, forecasting, and new product introduction.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing sales team.
  • Expertise in brand management, stock-holding, framework agreements, incentives, advertising, and trade events.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the UK and internationally as required.
  • Must be commutable to the Northwest Cheshire area.
