This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Group Financial Controller to join a fast paced and evolving alternative energy company.You'll report into the CFO and be expected to shape and take charge of the Finance team, helping to transform it into a high performing function.

  • The client is an industry leader in the production of bio-energy and has been established for over 10 years
  • The company is PE backed and going through rapid change in part due to industry wide changes and also due to the nature of its investment structure.

Job Description

  • Provide strategic financial leadership and mentorship for the finance team (10-12 members)
  • Help guide and lead the operational teams, helping them develop budgets, plans and forecasts
  • Oversee the delivery of the statutory accounts, reports, and analysis across all Group entities (UK GAAP and IFRS)
  • Manage cash flow and working capital effectively for the operations
  • Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures within operations
  • Oversee the financial systems
  • Ensure compliance with UK tax regulations, laws, and reporting requirements
  • Leading tax preparation duties
  • Assisting the CFO in presenting reports to the senior executives and board members.

The Successful Applicant

  • You will have proven experience as a financial controller or a similar role in the UK, ideally at a Group level
  • You will have strong knowledge of UK accounting principles and UK financial and tax regulations
  • You will need to be passionate about the circular economy and decarbonisation of industrial processes, and what the organisation is striving to achieve.
  • PE experience is helpful but not essential
