FPnA Senior Manager - team lead

Banking & Financial Services - Challenger Business Bank

City of London (3 days a week in office, hybrid)The role:

Number 2 to the Head of Finance to whom this role will directly report. Likely 3 or 4 direct reports into you, need a doer as much as a manager/higher level thinker. Components of role to include -

  • Full P&L, forecast, budget, et al
  • Balance Sheet, Cashflow - so 3-prongued approach to analysis
  • Some high level interaction/knowledge of regulatory capital calculations (their reg team actually do it but this is just to take that and embed into strategy)
  • Consolidation from a Group perspective - so having a breadth view (e.g. economic impact, rwa/reg impact, RoR/RoI, any other risks…) as well as depth view product line by product line.

Day-to-Day:

  • Lead the financial planning and analysis process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of reporting.
  • Provide detailed financial insights to support strategic business decisions.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to forecast and track performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial goals with business objectives.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for cost optimisation and revenue growth.
  • Prepare and present reports to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering a high-performing culture.

City of London (3 days a week in office, hybrid)A successful Senior FP&A Manager who is the Team Lead should have:

  • Strong expertise in a retail bank, business / SME bank, corporate lender, fintech or challenger/digital bank.
  • A professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA. Slight preference to ex-ACA FS Audit Practice before later industry move in the above but not essential.
  • Proven ability to interpret complex financial data and provide strategic insights.
  • Experience in managing and developing a team in an accounting and finance environment.
  • Proficiency in financial modelling and forecasting tools.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
