The ideal candidate will be fully Qualified ideally from an audit background, either direct from practice or with 1-2 years' industry experience.

About Our Client

Our client, a well-established manufacturing organisation based in East Kent are hiring for a Financial Accountant to join their Finance department on a full time and permanent basis. This role requires an on-site presence.

Job Description

Financial Accountant responsibilities include:

  • Statutory accounts preparation and completion for two business units.
  • Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring compliance with IFRS or GAAP standards.
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable insights to support management decision-making.
  • Work closely with the internal and external auditors, effectively business partnering to achieve successful and timely audit.
  • Collaborate and business partner with commercial teams to develop and oversee budgets, forecasts, P&L to drive performance..
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and statutory requirements, liaising with tax authorities as needed, and completing corporation tax computations.
  • Assist in process improvement initiatives to streamline accounting operations and enhance internal controls.

The Successful Applicant

The successful Financial Accountant should have:

  • A recognised accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
  • Proven familiarity of financial and management reporting
  • A working knowledge of taxation issues (Corporation tax, VAT, RDEC)
  • Knowledge of a variety of accounts packages and understanding of financial systems
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Previous Manufacturing experience is advantageous
  • 1st or 2nd step from Practice to be considered
