Job Description

  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including purchase/sales ledgers, payroll, and reconciliations.
  • Lead month-end processes, including journals, balance sheet reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Produce accurate monthly management accounts and financial reports for senior stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, regulations, and audits (Charity Commission, VAT, PAYE/NIC).
  • Maintain and manage the fixed asset register and nominal ledger.
  • Coach, mentor, and line manage a team of five finance assistants, ensuring performance and development.
  • Develop and implement financial process improvements.
  • Support strategic financial planning and decision-making.

The Successful Applicant

The successful Finance Manager should have:

  • 3+ years of experience in a finance role with team management responsibilities.
  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or finalist, or 5+ years QBE.
  • Strong understanding of transactional finance processes, payroll, and month-end tasks.
  • Proven experience in coaching and developing team members.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial management systems.
