Save Job Back to Search Job Description Summary Similar JobsExciting role to be part of the Executive leadership teamIdeal for an aspiring Finance lead with experience working in an SME environmentAbout Our ClientA well respected UK professional services business based in Gloucestershire.Job DescriptionReporting to the Managing Director and Shareholders, the Finance Director will be the financial lead advising on all aspects of finance:Monitor and challenge business performance, addressing variances against targets and forecasts. Collaborating with team managers to identify and implement performance improvements.Deliver the annual budgeting and re-forecasting processes, aligning with strategic objectives.Support on acquisition opportunities, including initial appraisal, valuation, negotiations, due diligence and preparation of legal documents. Liaising with external advisors where necessary.Financial modelling as required to appraise strategic opportunities, competitors and future growth plans.Ensure timely preparation and reporting of management accounts, statutory accounts, and audits for the main trading company and subsidiaries.Member of the Leadership Team, supporting both strategic and wider business planning.Director and Company Secretary of all subsidiary and related companies.Manage all employee pension matters and oversee payroll administration, ensuring HMRC compliance.Implement robust cash flow monitoring procedures, producing short- and long-term cash flow forecasts.Ensure efficient debt collection and oversight of the firm's debtor ledger.Lead relationships with external advisors, including auditors, tax specialists, and banking partners.Oversight of client accounting matters across the business.Responsible for and advise on all aspects of tax, including Corporation Tax, VAT and employment taxes, utilising advice from the company's tax advisors on more specialist issues.Direct management of the Finance Team.Work closely with other Directors to ensure the company maintains regulatory compliance.Other duties as required by the business.The Successful ApplicantACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified accountant, educated to degree level.Experience in working within a small to medium sized enterprise would be an advantage.Proven financial professional with demonstrated success in both strategic and operational finance functions.Ability to influence at all levels, drive performance through others and engender change.Experienced leader of teams and strong people skills.Strong IT skills, particularly Excel and confident user of financial software packages.Strong communicator, both verbal and written.Positive, can-do attitude, strong work ethic, pragmatic approach.High level organisational and planning skills with strong attention to detail.Ability to present financial data to senior level in a comprehensible manner.Ability to make good decisions quickly.Good problem-solving skills.Confident and flexible approach and ability to respond professionally and resourcefully to the unexpected.What's on Offer£80,000 to £100,000 dependent on experienceContactTim HandQuote job refJN-012025-6635275Phone number+44 117 927 1459Job summaryJob functionAccountingSubsectorFinancial Director / CFOSectorBusiness ServicesLocationGloucestershireContract typePermanentConsultant nameTim HandConsultant phone+44 117 927 1459Job referenceJN-012025-6635275
