Job Description



  1. Legal Document Preparation:


    • Draft and prepare legal documents including petitions, motions, pleadings, discovery requests, and subpoenas.


    • Ensure accuracy and completeness of documents before filing with the court.


    • Organize and maintain case files for easy access and retrieval.


    • Prepare client communications, ensuring all deadlines are met.


  2. Case Management:


    • Assist attorneys in managing family law cases from start to finish, ensuring that all necessary documents are filed and deadlines are met.


    • Schedule appointments, hearings, and court dates.


    • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel regarding case progress.


  3. Client Interaction:


    • Provide updates to clients on the status of their case and answer routine questions.


    • Assist clients in completing necessary forms and documents.


    • Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards of the legal profession.


  4. Court Filings & Procedures:


    • File documents with the court electronically or in person as needed.


    • Prepare and maintain accurate records of all filed documents.


    • Assist attorneys in preparing for trial by gathering evidence and organizing documents.


  5. Administrative Support:


    • Perform general office duties such as answering phones, managing calendars, and handling correspondence.


    • Coordinate meetings and communications between clients, attorneys, and other stakeholders.


    • Process billing and timekeeping records.

The Successful Applicant



  • Experience:


    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a family law setting or relevant legal field preferred.


    • Strong understanding of family law procedures and terminology.


    • Proficient in using legal software and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).


  • Skills:


    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.


    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.


    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.


    • Client-focused attitude with a high level of professionalism and empathy.
