As Divisional Financial Controller you will have responsibility for the integrity of all financial accounting and financial reporting for the unit, whilst meeting both internal reporting and statutory reporting requirements. Reporting into the Head of Financial Control, you will also work closely with the wider team on implementation, enhancement and ongoing monitoring of financial control, process efficiencies and accuracy of financial records.

My client are a Private Equity backed business, who are market leaders in their field. They have gone through a significant period of growth and change in the last couple of years, including several acquisitions. This growth is forecasted to continue.

Job Description


· Ensure month-end close for your division, including account reconciliations, nominal ledger review and intercompany balance checks, is completed in a timely manner.

· Work closely with the Commercial finance to ensure financial reporting and forecasting reflects the latest commercial terms and to understand underlying performance of the division.

· Ensure financial records are complete, accurate and in line with Group policy and relevant accounting standards.

· Ensure robust and documented internal controls and processes.

· Ensure that all relevant balance sheet accounts are reconciled, understood and supported.

· Proactively drive efficiencies within the Finance department and actively participate in any projects to develop the Finance function as a whole

· Provide ad hoc support to the Head of Financial Control and Director of Controllership.

· Provide the necessary information to ensure that partners are paid on a timely basis

· Responsible for the day to day management and oversight of one team member, including ensuring all key deliverables are met and providing guidance and coaching where needed.

· Work with other Financial Controllers and Reporting Managers to ensure finance risk registers are up to date and controls are operating as expected

· Lead and coordinate quarterly risk reporting by ensuring information required to produce the documentation is gathered, reviewed and consolidated in a timely manner.

· Take a lead role in managing the relationship with the external auditors ensuring all statutory accounts are filed on time.

· Ensure that all necessary submissions for tax, bank and statutory reporting purposes are accurate, complete and provided in a timely manner.

The Successful Applicant


· ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified Accountant

· Preferably 2/3 years post qualification experience with practice background

· Sound knowledge and experience of working with ERP and finance systems.

· Strong technical understanding of accounting standards and regulatory reporting.

· Strong IT skills specifically Microsoft Excel.

· Good business acumen with commercial thinking.

· Strong communication skills and ability to interact with stakeholders of all levels.

· Proven experience of successfully managing a team.

· Experience of working in a large/ global organisation.
