Job Description

  • Dealing with DFG case progression for simple and non-complex adaptations from enquiry through to works completion.
  • Triage of new customers into the service, offering interim advice.
  • Support the service with implementation of a new IT system, case testing and inputting of data.
  • Undertake financial assessments on resources in line with legislation and internal policies to consider financial eligibility for the grant.
  • Providing advice and support to all customer's accessing the service, irrespective if they are eligible for assistance.
  • To collate all necessary information required to support enquiries/applications for Disabled Facilities Grants, Council Housing Adaptations or other assistance available through the Housing Assistance Policies.



The Successful Applicant

  • Experience of home adaptations and Disabled Facilities Grants (DFG) delivery, including test of resources is essential.
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint) and experience of working with IT systems to maintain records and produce documents and reports.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate complex issues clearly and effectively to a variety of audiences.
  • Experience of providing services to disabled and/or older people and an understanding of the challenges they face.
  • Enhanced DBS place desirable
