Job Description



  • Assisting in Property Transactions:
    Assist the conveyancing team with the day-to-day running of residential or commercial property transactions, including the buying and selling of property.


  • Client Interaction:
    Liaise directly with clients, estate agents, and third parties, offering updates and ensuring clients are informed throughout the process.


  • Preparation of Legal Documents:
    Prepare and draft conveyancing documents, including contracts, leases, and transfer forms. Ensure that documents are correctly executed and filed.


  • Due Diligence:
    Undertake searches, investigations, and reviews of the property title, land registry documents, and other legal aspects to ensure that the transaction proceeds smoothly.


  • Compliance and Regulatory Requirements:
    Ensure that all legal processes comply with current laws, regulations, and best practices in conveyancing.


  • Property Law Support:
    Provide support in property law matters, such as property disputes, boundary issues, and drafting correspondence in connection with these.


  • Communication:
    Maintain effective communication with clients and colleagues. Respond to client queries promptly and professionally.


  • Administrative Tasks:
    File management, organizing case files, and ensuring all documents are correctly filed and stored in line with firm procedures.


  • Billing and Time Recording:
    Accurately record time and assist with the billing process, including the preparation of invoices and cost estimates for clients.



The Successful Applicant



  • Experience:


    • Previous experience in conveyancing, whether residential or commercial, is highly advantageous.


    • Knowledge of land law, property law, and the conveyancing process.


  • Skills:


    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


    • Strong organizational and time management abilities.


    • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.


    • Attention to detail and accuracy.


    • Proficiency with case management software and MS Office suite.


  • Personal Attributes:


    • A proactive, customer-focused attitude.


    • Ability to work as part of a team but also take initiative and work independently when needed.


    • A strong understanding of confidentiality and data protection in a legal context.
