Their procurement and supply chain team is an essential part of their operation, delivering cost-effective solutions to various departments within the organisation.Job DescriptionAs a Category Manager you must have experience in Public Sector Procurement (PCR2015 becoming PA23). You will also have experience of end to end procurement delivery from stakeholder specification to contract award and management.Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies in line with organisational goalsManage relationships with suppliers and negotiate contracts to ensure value for moneyLead a procurement team, fostering a positive and productive work environmentMonitor market trends and identify potential areas for savingsEnsure compliance with procurement policies and proceduresWork closely with other departments to understand their procurement needsThe Successful ApplicantA successful Category Manager should have:Proven track record ideally in public sector procurement procurement, with a focus on strategic sourcing and category management. You would have end-end category experience. If you have worked within the private sector (utilities) you will also be considered. Ideally you will have experience managing the MRO and asset management category.Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively and establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of analysing data and identifying opportunities for cost savings.Thorough understanding of procurement best practices, market trends, and legal requirements.Effective communication and interpersonal skills, able to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.Produce spend analysis and procurement information tailored for different audiences to monitor performance and facilitate decision making.Support the development of a robust supplier base for the procurement of goods and services.Demonstrate excellent communication skills when interacting with internal and external colleagues.
