Job Description

  • Oversee purchasing activities for specific categories within the company.
  • Monitor and predict market trends to identify potential areas for savings.
  • Manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with various department heads to forecast future supply needs.
  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies to meet company objectives.
  • Handle any supply issues to ensure continuity of supply.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies and regulations.
  • Regularly report on purchasing activities and cost reductions.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Category Buyer should have:

  • A degree in Business, Economics, or a related field.
  • Experience in a procurement and supply chain role, preferably in the Industrial / Manufacturing sector.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
  • Exceptional analytical and strategic planning abilities.
  • A solid understanding of market dynamics and sound business judgement.
