Job Description

The Business Development Manager

Covering the UK with a home set up

Role Overview:
Drive new business and existing account sales, while managing key relationships as needed. Collaborate with internal teams and maintain accurate sales forecasts. Stay informed on market trends and opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering and exceeding monthly and annual sales revenue and contribution margin budgets. Develop detailed knowledge of new business opportunities and markets that fit the business manufacturing capabilities and needs
  • Manage and maintain a robust pipeline process through active prospecting, through self-lead generation using existing market knowledge, experience and internet support. Maintain accurate, comprehensive and real time Pipeline and Forecast records
  • Employ a cross-functional approach with key staff (Operations/Technical/ Quality/Sales/Finance/Management etc.) deployed where required to maximise success rate with new opportunities.

Person Specification:

  • Excellent communicator (written and verbal) at all times with great attention to detail.
  • Excellent project management skills and a strategic and innovative thinker.
  • Organised and calm under pressure, friendly, approachable and flexible - a team player.
  • Professional, proactive, positive, enthusiastic - Commercially aware, leading by example.
  • Travel will be an essential part of this role, clean driving license required. Staying away from home may be necessary on occasions to meet with The UK role demand





Skills & Experience:

  • Ideally knowledge in polythene packaging in a customer facing role
  • Knowledge of extrusion and converting would be a distinct advantage.
  • Must be able to demonstrate new business attainment and used to working to sales targets. Computer literate - MS Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Experience of selling, Shrink Films, Mailing Films, Pallet Covers, Liners and Sacks to both the Industrial and Food Grade markets is ideal but not essential.
