Job Description

Key responsibilities of the Business Development Executive include:

  • Identifying new opportunities to grow the companies business through account prospecting and profiling
  • Proactively follow up leads generated and book appointments
  • Provide effective product demonstrations to prospective customer management, including hosting client site visits if necessary
  • Prepare appropriate sales order paperwork to ensure purchase orders are completed
  • Manage the database to a high degree of accuracy to ensure targeted marketing activity can take place to generate new business
  • Work closely with the marketing team to achieve agreed objectives
  • Customer credit checking for all prospects and existing customers
  • Updating Customers with stock availability lead times and general deliveries
  • Liaise effectively with all departments within the company to ensure that customer requirements are met
  • Contribute to the team performance by sharing and implementing best practice ideas
  • Providing quotations to clients
  • Working to targets and KPIs set

The Successful Applicant

The successful Business Development Executive will have:

  • Previous experience working within a sales/target-driven environment
  • IT/Telecoms industry experience is highly desirable, but not essental
  • Excellent telephone skills
  • High degree of accuracy
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload
  • Must be able to deal with technical product information
  • Ability to build strong working relationships both internally and externally
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to persuade, influence and negotiate effectively at all levels within and outside the organisation
