Job Description

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
  • Perform reconciliations, including bank and balance sheet accounts.
  • Support the preparation of year-end statutory accounts and liaise with auditors.
  • Maintain and update financial records in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes to support financial planning.
  • Monitor and analyse financial data to identify discrepancies or improvements.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Submission of monthly UK VAT returns
  • Post journals for VAT system
  • Provide support for ad hoc finance projects as required.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Assistant Financial Accountant should have:

  • Experience working within an accounting and finance department, ideally in the retail industry.
  • Knowledge of VAT
  • Proficiency in financial software and accounting tools.
  • A strong understanding of financial principles and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
