We are seeking an astute Assistant Accountant to join our Accounting & Finance department. This role requires a meticulous individual with a strong grounding in industrial sector accounting practices.

Job Description

  • Assist in preparing financial statements in compliance with official guidelines and requirements.
  • Manage journal entries, invoices etc. and reconcile accounts for the monthly or annual closing.
  • Assist with payroll, including input/dat entry, queries and reconciliations
  • Participate in tax audits and payroll audits
  • Assist reports detailing monthly expenses by cost centres.
  • Analyse financial trends.
  • Review company's accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances.
  • Utilise accounting IT system to facilitate processes and maintain records.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Assistant Accountant should have:

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with SAGE
  • Understanding of data analysis and forecasting.
  • Knowledge of business process improvements.
  • Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
  • An analytical mind with a strategic ability.
  • Excellent organisational and coordination skills.
